When budgets are tight and buildings are aging, financial activities play a pivotal role in helping to provide good quality affordable housing.

Finance Online was created by a non-profit financial expert and a learning consultant to provide all the information you need to keep your organization on firm financial ground.

This comprehensive, easy-to-follow course will help you to:

  • understand the different funding models and how they inform your financial operations,
  • create a financial plan that includes current and projected budgets,
  • develop a clear set of roles and responsibilities for the board, staff and auditor,
  • create a monthly and annual calendar of financial activities,
  • avoid surprises at year end by creating and monitoring financial statements to identify problem areas,
  • minimize risk to your organization by creating simple processes to help you control financial operations,
  • keep accurate records that will save on your audit fees and respect privacy of information, and
  • prepare timely and accurate reports to the board and funders, including the Annual Information Return and tax filings.

To register for this course, please download the registration form and return it by email or fax it to 416-927-8401, or register online with a credit card. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Lem by phone at 800-297-6660 x 121 or by email at mary.lem@onpha.org.
