Municipalities and Housing
In December, 2000, the Province of Ontario passed the Social Housing
Reform Act, making local governments responsible for social
housing programs, including non-profit housing. The 47
Service Manager areas in the province of Ontario now fund and
administer the bulk of the social housing stock in Ontario including
non-profits and co-ops.
ONPHA has developed resources to help make the system work—for
tenants, for housing providers, and for municipalities.
Benchmark Analysis Tool
ONPHA has developed tools to help you measure the impact of benchmarking
and sample Requests for Change documents. Member resources
on municipal
housing issues have been collected in one place. Check back
often as new resources are added often.
