ONPHA Regional Meetings
More than 400 members attended
ONPHA’s Regional Meetings held at 12 locations around the province
during the month of April. Our program this year included all the latest
housing sector news, including need to know information on hot topics
such as new legislation on accessibility and workplace violence and
harassment.
In addition to the latest housing sector issues, attendees were asked
to participate in a visioning exercise that sought their thoughts on the
future of social housing in Ontario. As a group, members were asked
whether they thought the future of social housing would be positive or
negative from a political, economic, and housing perspective. Thoughts
from group discussions were collected and summarized. Small groups were
then tasked to come up with actions necessary to move the housing sector
towards the “positive” side of the future scale.
The feedback collected from this exercise was extremely valuable and
will be used to inform the development of ONPHA’s next strategic
plan.
