Since we released our 2012 report we were interviewed on CBC Radio in Northwestern Ontario, Square Off on CHCH TV in Hamilton and CKLW800 AM in Windsor. It was also featured in these publications:

ONPHA's Waiting Lists Survey 2012 report 

Every year we conduct a survey to learn how many Ontario households are waiting for community-based affordable housing. This year, we learned: 

  • 156,358 households were on waiting lists as of December 31 2011.
  • 56,130 were families with children.
  • 39,463 were seniors.
  • 58,995 were single people and couples under 65.
  • Most households that got housing had waited between 2 and 4 years.

  • For every household that got an affordable home in 2011, 3 households added themselves to waiting lists and 2.5 households cancelled their applications for housing.
